(Grimes, IA) -- Overnight road closures are scheduled for a portion of I-35/I-80 starting Tuesday.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says Northbound I-35 / Eastbound I-80 will be closed to traffic between the Southwest Mixmaster and Iowa 141 starting Tuesday, June 16th at 10pm. The closure is due to a construction project to fix a settlement issue. A detour will be posted during throughout the duration of the closure.
The DOT is reminding drivers to follow all posted signs in a construction area and that fines are at least double for any traffic violations in a construction zone. More information about ongoing DOT construction projects is available on the Iowa Department of Transportation website.
