(Douglas County, NE) -- Two people are under arrest after a woman was killed during an argument at an Elkhorn apartment.
30-year-old Mason Clarke and 25-year-old Samantha Neiber were taken into custody following reports of a suspicious death.
Investigators say 57-year-old Jennifer Neiber was attending a barbecue hosted by the pair when an argument broke out over a child. That argument escalated into a physical altercation.
According to police, Clarke allegedly forced a sock into the victim’s mouth while Samantha Neiber restrained her. Jennifer Neiber was pronounced dead at the scene.
Clarke is charged with second-degree murder and child abuse by neglect. Samantha Neiber is charged with accessory to a Class I felony and child abuse by neglect.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
