(Iowa City, IA) -- A new report says the superintendent, his deputy, and the CFO were warned about financial irregularities at Iowa City Community School District a year before they became public. The Gazette obtained emails sent by the District’s director of financial reporting Alan Moran citing fundamental errors in accounting. The report says neither of the superintendents replied. The CFO thanked Moran. Last week, a state panel recommended they take over the Iowa City School District's finances.
