The Omaha Police Officer-Involved Investigations Team has interviewed the involved officers and witnesses and continues to investigate the fatal officer-involved shooting during an exchange of gunfire with a barricaded gunman June 2nd near 19th and Bancroft Streets.
The suspect who was killed was 55-year-old Matthew Strain. There were no other injuries.
OPD says the Officers are Sgt. Sergio Gutierrez, 14 years of service, and Officers Trevor Shoemaker, eight years of service, Tyler Anderson, with 11 years of service, Lukas Brazier, 11 years of service, and Jaime Desautels who has 17-and-a-half years of service.
Police were originally called on a report of a disturbance between Strain and a landlord. A Grand Jury will investigate under Nebraska law.
