(Iowa) -- Eight historic properties in Iowa are receiving preservation grants through the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

The IEDA's State Historic Preservation Office has awarded $750,000 dollars in Iowa Rural Heritage Revitalization Grants to properties in Atlantic, Beaconsfield, Bentonsport, Fairfield, Fort Dodge, Harcourt, Lime Springs, and Wapello. The grants are awarded to historic properties in communities with fewer than 50 thousand residents outside of urbanized areas.

The funding comes from the competitive Nation Park Service's Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant Program, marking Iowa's first award through the program. More information about the grants is available through the Iowa Economic Development Authority website.
