In a news release, The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office says on Monday, June 22nd around 530 p.m., the Sarpy County 911 dispatch center received a call from a female, later identified as 34-year-old Coral Eaton, who stated her husband, 35-year-old Camron Skayman, was shooting a weapon in their home at 13302 Grissom Street in Sarpy County. Deputies from the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office along with officers from the Papillion Police Department responded to the location. During the phone call, the telephone line remained open, but contact was lost with the female caller.
Upon arrival of officers, an additional shot was heard from inside the residence and a perimeter was set up at that time. The Sarpy County SWAT team along with other specialty units responded to the scene and, ultimately, the male exited the house, was taken into custody, and transported to a hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
When deputies entered the residence, they found the female, Coral Eaton, deceased. A juvenile child was also located in the home unharmed and was taken to Project Harmony for placement in a safe environment. No law enforcement officers fired their weapons during this incident.
This investigation is ongoing; there is no danger to the public at this time. Additional information will be released pending the filing of any charges by the Sarpy County Attorney’s Office.
