(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Police department wants to leap into the future.
City Council listened to a request last night by department leaders for a technology package that would increase the force's use of drones, body cameras and AI-assisted tools.
Police department officials say the technology would help improve response times, increase safety, and bring multiple systems together.
Council is reportedly reviewing the request.
