(Iowa) -- Much of Iowa will feel triple-digit heat indexes starting on Sunday. The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning from 1 pm on Sunday until 9 pm on Tuesday.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Mark DeBriun says the humidity will be high with actual temperatures in the mid 90's and heat indices as high as 110 degrees.
He says the heat wave will last several days, possibly stretching into the Fourth of July weekend.
DeBruin advises residents to move their outdoor plans indoors. He adds if you have to be outside, stay hydrated and take a lot of breaks.
