(Iowa) -- RAGBRAI is just over a week away.
The Iowa State Patrol will once again be stationed along the route to help keep riders safe as they travel through busy intersections and other high-traffic areas.
But riders lagging at the back of the pack may get a visit from "Team Buzz Kill."
"Anybody who's at the back of the pack is going to meet Team Buzz Kill, a team of 10 troopers who will politely ask you to keep pedaling or find an alternative ride as we work to keep the event moving throughout the day," said Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Alex Dinkla.
Dinkla says the team's job is to keep riders moving so they're able to reach each overnight stop on schedule.
RAGBRAI begins July 18 in Onawa and concludes a week later in Dubuque after covering 391 miles.
