Woman rescued from car in Waukee pond dies

UPDATE:    A woman who drove off Hickman Road in Waukee and into a pond yesterday, has died. Thirty-eight-year-old Shessla Whitlow's  vehicle went into a pond yesterday afternoon.  Witnesses, the Waukee Fire Chief, and a Waukee Police Sergeant pulled her from the vehicle, before it became submerged.   CPR was performed at the scene, but Whitlow died at the hospital.  An autopsy will be performed.

WAUKEE, Iowa- Rescue crews pulled a woman from a vehicle that went into a Waukee pond this (Tuesday) afternoon. 

Crews were called to the 14-hundred block of East Hickman in Waukee after a 39-year-old woman drove into a pond.     

The Waukee fire chief and other witnesses pulled her out of a window, before the car became submerged.

The woman was taken to the hospital, no word on her condition.
