Should you have two careers at once?

If you can look past the humble-brag that overshadows much of the narrative, the recent column "Why you should have (at least) two careers" in the Harvard Business Review is really interesting stuff. For a long time, I've thought the real value comes not from knowing just one thing really well, but from knowing two things well. The real profits and progress come from navigating the boundaries between two fields at once -- often even when they seem totally unrelated.
