When the cars drive themselves

According to one group of futurists, we're only 5 or 10 years away from people using on-demand services to borrow self-driving electric cars instead of buying their own. Seems like a radical prospect, but they point out that it could save households thousands of dollars a year. If true, I don't see how you could (or would even want to) keep that from happening. But woe unto the big automakers, car dealers, and oil companies of the world if it becomes reality. A trend worth watching, for sure.
