101 songs to kickstart a Gen X playlist

You might not know this, but I got my start in radio as a DJ on an alternative-rock station in the early 1990s. In honor of that time in my life, and as a way to encourage you to check out the "All Access" free preview weekend on the iHeartRadio app, here are 101 songs to start a GenX-friendly alternative rock playlist. I wore a long-sleeve flannel shirt (unbuttoned) while creating this list, just to be sure I was in the right mood. I've highlighted a few favorites.
