Defense Secretary Jim Mattis addressed the graduates at the Air Force Academy this week, and he offered some inspiring lines, including this:
America has no ordained right to victory on the battlefield. It is now your responsibility to ensure our adversaries know they should always prefer to talk to our Department of State, rather than face the U.S. Air Force.
He also had this to say:
As officers, you will have only to win one battle, and the battle for your troops’ respect and your peers’ respect.
This Memorial Day weekend, it wouldn't hurt you to spend five minutes reading the full speech -- Secretary Mattis is a giant in his own time.
