Fall Tasks

This week is a dreary and wet one in the Central Iowa area.

Frost is just around the corner so now is the time to think about bringing plant indoors. This may include tropicals that will be set out again during the following Spring. Always do a quick inspection in case you have insects and treat with an insecticidal soap. You don't want to be bringing hitckhikers onto your other plants!

You can also dig tender bulbs such as cannas, gladiolus, and dahlias. These will not survive our Iowa winters. Here's a great resource from Iowa State University Extension.
