Yes, your progressive friends were gloating on Facebook as the GOP Congress and the GOP President failed to replace Obamacare. And it's inevitable in politics that there is gloating. But you can respond with just one question: "is Obamacare going to get any better?" To paraphrase Jeff Goldblum, first there is gloating - then there's running and screaming.
Here's some facts about Obamacare, provided by Robert Laszewski to CNBC: The Obamacare insurance exchanges are simply unsustainable in their present form. With only 40 percent of the subsidy eligible signing up after three years, the risk pool is nowhere near the goal of getting 75 percent to sign up to assure enough healthy people are paying into the program to cover the costs of the sick.
That means more huge premium spikes and companies leaving the exchanges in 2018. At that point, Democrats will demand that the GOP "fix" Obamacare. How the Republicans do that will become the story of the 2018 election.
