Top April Fools' Prank Of All Time: Spaghetti Tree Harvest (BBC)


Perhaps the best April Fools' Day prank of all time occurred in 1957, when the BBC ran a 3-minute hoax report featuring a spaghetti tree harvest.  It was successful because spaghetti wasn't widely eaten in the UK.  When viewers called the BBC and asked how to grow their own spaghetti tree, they were told, "place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best."
