Chicago Cubs president Theo Epstein decided to put on a charity concert as the Cubs took on the Red Sox in Boston. Baseball fans will recall that Epstein was the general manager of the Red Sox before coming to the Cubs, and both clubs won the World Series under his leadership.
At some point during the concert, SOMEONE thought it would be a good idea for the two World Series trophies won by the Red Sox and Cubs to "surf" the crowd - to be passed from fan to fan!
In the video above, Epstein seems to realize this isn't a good idea and is motioning for the trophies to be sent back to the stage. BUT - too late. Several of the 30 flags on the Cubs' trophy were broken off.
The pieces of the trophy were later retrieved and it was pieced back together - but can someone tell me who thought this was a good idea?
