Our friends at Blank Park Zoo are continuing to celebrate the birth of Mira the harbor seal. As she continues to grow and start the weaning process with her mom, Meru, she is starting to venture out to the main pool more often.
While Meru spends her time with their pup, Ross is getting a little lonely. Ross is Mira's dad, but doesn't have a big role in raising her. He's spent a lot more time by himself with the sea lions and has started getting pretty vocal in the evenings, according to his keepers at Blank Park Zoo.
This funny behavior is calling out for attention from a mate. It should be a matter of time before Meru and Mira start spending more time with Ross and the sea lions in their outdoor exhibit.
Ross still gets plenty of attention from his keepers and is a happy boy.
