Two victims of the tragic shooting at Florida State University (FSU) on Thursday (April 17) have been identified as Tiru Chabba, an Aramark executive, and Joseph Morales, an FSU dining hall manager. The incident occurred when a gunman, identified as 20-year-old FSU student Phoenix Ikner, opened fire on the Tallahassee campus, injuring six others before being shot and arrested by police.

Tiru Chabba, 45, was the regional vice president of Aramark Collegiate Hospitality. He lived in Simpsonville, South Carolina, and was in Tallahassee for meetings with university officials, according to The Daily Mail. Chabba had worked with Aramark for over 25 years, rising to his executive position in October 2022. Colleagues remembered him as a humble and kind leader. One colleague, Jess Levy, described him as "an amazing leader and the most humble and kind person I'd ever had the pleasure to work for."

Chabba's family has hired civil rights attorney Bakari Sellers and Jim Bannister to pursue legal action against those they believe are responsible for the tragedy.

Joseph Morales, the dining hall manager at FSU, was identified as the second victim by his brother, Ricardo Morales Jr., in a post on X.

"Today we lost my younger Brother, He was one of the victims killed at FSU. He loved his job at FSU and his beautiful Wife and Daughter. I’m glad you were in my Life," he wrote.
