Des Moines might further restrict fireworks - right move? Today's Poll...

I was in Los Angeles, California on July 4th. Fireworks were everywhere! I was watching an organized display, but there were thousands of others going off at the same time.

Weirdly I guess, all I could think of was that here I was in one of the most liberal states in the Union, while back home in Iowa, the tentacles of the Nanny State were surely about to start creeping towards more control in the name of keeping us 'safe'.

I was not wrong and tonight, lead by Mayor Frank Cownie, the Des Moines City Council will revisit their incredibly restricted fireworks use (4pm to 10pm on July 4th only) with a view to tightening that.

Is this the right move?
