Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) wants to use money that was headed to Pakistan to fund infrastructure projects here at home like roads and bridges instead.
He plans to introduce a Bill to do just that in the coming days.
I’m introducing a bill to end aid to Pakistan in the coming days. My bill will take the money that would have gone to Pakistan and put it in an infrastructure fund to build roads and bridges here at home. pic.twitter.com/SHlA00rWEd— Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) January 4, 2018
And it would seem he has the support of the President too!
Good idea Rand! https://t.co/55sqUDiC0s— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 6, 2018
Fox reports that "...the U.S. announced plans to end up to $2 billion in security assistance to Pakistan. The reasoning: The U.S. State Department contended that Pakistan had failed to take "decisive action" against Taliban militants targeting U.S. personnel in neighboring Afghanistan.
"Earlier in the week, President Trump contended that the U.S. had “foolishly” given Pakistan more than $33 billion in aid over the last 15 years and had gotten nothing in return but “lies & deceit.”"
