Representative Chip Baltimore, 51, was arrested early this morning for DUI and possession of a firearm while intoxicated. The arrest took place in Ames at 5.41am.
He is the current chair of the Judiciary Committee who has in the past publicly called for a strengthening of Iowa's OWI laws.
Baltimore made his initial court appearance this morning and was released. He is due back in court on February 8. No word on if he has resigned from his Chairmanship or indeed the Iowa House.
In my opinion, he should do both.
