California has sued the Trump Administration regarding the return of the citizenship question to the 2020 Census. The State says it's unconstitutional.
The Commerce Department returned the question on citizenship at the request of the Department of Justice.
What California is REALLY worried about is losing a seat in Congress. You should think about that for a moment. The State is essentially saying that if there's a citizenship question, illegals won't take part and therefore California will lose both Federal money and a Congressional seat.
Which obviously means that right now, California is receiving extra Federal money and has an extra seat in Congress BECAUSE illegals are counted.
Between 1820 and 1950, almost every census had a citizenship question in some form.
So is it a good idea to return that question?
