For the third month in a row, US Border Patrol took more than 50,000 illegals into custody. The actual number was 51,912 - more than three times the number for May of 2017.

In fact arrest rates this Spring are at their highest since President Trump took office and he is said to be very unhappy.

"These numbers show that while the Trump administration is restoring the rule of law, it will take a sustained effort and continuous commitment of resources over many months to disrupt cartels, smugglers, and nefarious actors," said Homeland Security Spokesman Tyler Houlton.

"No one expects to reverse years of political inaction overnight or in a month," he added.
