“In regards to Russia involvement in midterm elections, we continue to see a pervasive messaging campaign by Russia, to try to undermined and divide the United States,” U.S. Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats told reporters yesterday.
Personally I was like 'Whaaaaaaaattttttt?"
Earlier in the week we heard that Facebook had removed 32 accounts which they believed were 'fake'. I'm certain there are a lot more than that. In fact, I have blocked from my page at least 20 fake accounts - pages run by people who simply showed up to create trouble.
BUT - did I think any one of those pages had the ability to change the way people voted? No.
Does anyone believe that fake pages and 'pervasive messaging' could change the way we vote?
