Congressman David Young lost his election in the Mid Terms and will no longer be representing Iowans in January.
Somehow during the course of that election, I missed that he wanted to become a gun grabber, signing on to the Protecting our Communities and Rights Act of 2018.
Maybe he was trying to appeal to Polk County Liberals or maybe he's just a gun grabber. The Bill was referred to committee which means it will die there before this Congress comes to the end of its work.
You can read the text of the Bill here.
On Young's Congressional website his statement reads: "Recent acts of violence have proven we all need to work together to make our communities safer and ensure those who show they are a danger to themselves or others get the help they need but also can't commit acts of violence. This legislation will help family members and law enforcement prevent those who are a risk to themselves or others from accessing firearms while also ensuring due process. This is just one of many steps I'm taking to make Iowans safer and ensure the rights of law-abiding citizens are respected."
So who's shocked?
