It was Megan Gustafson's last game for the Iowa Hawkeyes basketball team last night when the ladies went down 85-53 against Number One ranked Baylor in the Elite Eight. The senior scored 23 points to take her to 1,001 for the year and became just the fourth player in women's college basketball player in history to score 1,000 points in a single season.

She is the Big Ten Player of the Year, ESPN’s Player of the Year and was named first-team All-American by the Associated Press - the first Hawkeye women's basketball player to earn that honor. She is also a finalist for both the Naismith Trophy and the Lisa Leslie Award.

“I just tried to do my job here at Iowa, and just tried to work hard every single day,” Gustafson said. “God has just blessed me with an amazing ability to play basketball, and I’m so, so blessed and thankful that the University of Iowa chose me, and I chose them to play for them.”

There is no question she will be missed, but I have already heard it said that maybe she's the best Iowa Hawkeye ever - men or women.
