It started just 19 minutes after President Trump took the Oath of Office in January of 2017 when the Washington Post ran this headline: "The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun". It will come to a vote in the US House this week.
Impeaching the President is the only thing Democrats have been interested in since We The People gave them control of the House in 2018. In Iowa, Reps Cindy Axne, Aby Finkenauer and Dave Lobesack all voted for the hearings. Will they have the stomach to vote for the actual impeachment?
Rumors have been circulating that at risk Democrats have been pushing Nancy Pelosi to go for censure instead, but it is a long shot at best.
Just 16 Democrats need to say no if all the Republicans (as expected) do.
