All across our country for the last few days, there has been violence, looting and destruction. There has also been widespread peaceful protest.
We all know why the protests started - it was due to the on camera killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. That death was way beyond disturbing and so far all four officers involved have been fired and one has been charged with third degree murder and manslaughter. Quite right. I believe the other three should face charges too.
Protests erupted, but then those protests turned violent. Looting followed and the levels of violence got worse. Over and over again the violence and destruction appears to be being lead by white people. We've seen video of a white guy paying a young black man and issuing him instructions. We've seen black people arguing with white people who are defacing property. It was not all white people orchestrating violence, but it happened enough times to warrant investigation. We have seen horrific violence directed against business people as well with one in Dallas, TX kicked and beaten so violently that many though he had been murdered right in front of them.
There was a lot of preparation. Piles of bricks in strategic places; bottles of urine; fireworks, spray paint and more. The President declared Antifa to be a terrorist organization - right decision.
