Atlantic admits main claim of Trump hit piece might be wrong. Too late?

The central claim of The Atlantic hit piece was clear. President Trump was in France and didn't want to go to Aisne-Marne American Cemetery because it was "filled with losers".

People were outraged! I would have been outraged if it had been true, but it clearly wasn't true!

People I personally know immediately slammed this attempt to smear the President declaring they were "in the room" when the no go decision was made.

The email from the Marine One crew was released making it clear that weather was the reason for the cancellation.

Even John Bolton who just released his own attack book on the President says the claim is untrue. "According to what that article said, the president made disparaging remarks about soldiers and people buried in the cemetery in connection with the decision for him not to go to the ceremony that was planned that afternoon, and that was simply false," Bolton said.

Now even Jeffrey Goldberg, the Atlantic Editor and a man who endorsed Clinton in 2016, says this central claim may not be true! But is it too late? Has the damage been done?
