Today the Supreme Court will hear Oral arguments over the legality of discriminatory admissions policies of Harvard and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) sued both schools, alleging their policies, which consider race as a factor in admissions, discriminate against Asian American applicants.
Neither school denies that race is part of the admissions process and that's what lead to the Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) to sue both of them.
To me this should be a slam dunk right? We are not admitting you because we have enough students who are Asian and we want more (insert whatever race you want here) students instead. Seems racist to me and is very confusing when you think that universities should simply want the BEST students. That's the policy inside the football stadium. "We want the best players". We don't want the best 10 who are Asian; the best ten who are black and the best ten who are white or any other races you care to include. We simply want the best we can convince to come to our school.
So how will this pan out?
