In a long speech yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin did a number of bizarre things, the most threatening to world peace however, was that he suspended Russia's participation in the New START nuclear treaty with the United States.
"In this regard, I am forced to announce today that Russia is suspending its participation in the strategic offensive arms treaty," he said in his long delayed annual address to the nation.
Putin also blamed the entire war on the West and cast Russia and Ukraine as the victims. His speech comes three days before the first anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and one day after President Biden visited the Ukrainian capital.
"I am meeting with President Zelensky and his team for an extended discussion on our support for Ukraine," Biden said in a statement yesterday. "I will announce another delivery of critical equipment, including artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems, and air surveillance radars to help protect the Ukrainian people from aerial bombardments. And I will share that later this week, we will announce additional sanctions against elites and companies that are trying to evade or backfill Russia’s war machine."
As the rhetoric amps up, are you getting worried that we are headed to World War Three?
