Can anything be done to stop school shootings?

Six Killed In Mass Shooting At A Private School In Nashville

I said yesterday that I am sick of reporting on school shootings. I'm sick of the immediate reaction of politicians and others with their efforts to score political points in the aftermath of one.

Mainly, I am sick to my stomach for the families of these innocent children who's lives will never be the same ever again. How could they be?

It is especially sad when frankly we know how to fix it. For whatever reason, we choose not to.

When it comes to buildings like the White House, congressional offices and other Government buildings, something like we saw in Nashville yesterday simply does not happen.

Why? Because the buildings are secure with controlled access.

When it comes to schools, we could do the same. One way in, one way out and armed and trained people on the inside of the doors. If the schools are too big for one way in, then we can have two ways in with controlled access. Retired veterans and Law Enforcement Officers would love to do this to keep our kids safe.

So I asked a question here. Can anything be done to stop school shootings? I believe the answer is yes. What do you think?
