It happened again, this time in Kentucky. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell simply froze for 30 seconds.
He had been talking for around 20 minutes when, ironically, someone asked him if he was going to run again in 2026. He asked for the question to be repeated and then he froze.
A staffer asked him if he heard the question. He did not respond to her. She told the media "we're going to need a moment here" and then called another staffer over to help.
McConnell's office later said the Senator was "lightheaded" but they insisted he was fine.
He is clearly not fine. Something almost identical took place in the Capitol in July.
So is it time Senate Republican leadership - which includes Iowa's Joni Ernst - force him to resign?
