Looking at the weather maps, they tell a tale that is on the unpleasant side because it looks eerily similiar to last year, except the rain or monsoon season version 3, so to speak, is about 3 weeks late:

So generally speaking, about 3 inches or so average less than a year ago. HOWEVER, here's October 2018:
In a lot of cases, not all but in a lot of cases, we've already reached or exceeded those totals on the second day of the month. Oh boy, grab the boots, the raincoat, and the log chains, we could be in for another long and frustrating harvest season.
