The USDA just released the 2020 prospective planting acres and quarterly grain stocks report showing with the main story being the larger than expected 2020 corn acres. The USDA puts the 2020 corn acres at 97.0 million much higher than the average estimate of 94.3 and would be the largest corn acres since 2012. Soybean acres came in slightly lower than expected at 83.5 vs the average estimate of 84.8. Looking at the quarterly stocks as of March 1 corn stocks were 150 million bushels less than estimates at 7.953 billion vs. 8.613 a year ago and soybeans were inline with estimates at 2.253 billion vs. 2.72 a year ago.
