Finally! Ground is broken on a new $2.9 million Jackson Co Youth building

A project that started in 2016 took another step forward today as ground was broken on the new 2.9 million dollar headquarters for Jackson County Extension and the Jackson County Fair:

It's being built on the fairgrounds on land owned by Jackson County:

Jackson County Extension currently utilizes some space in the basement of the Courthouse, which they have outgrown. Of course, there have been countless hurdles to overcome throughout the fundraising process, with the pandemic and correlated price increases, supply securement issues and much more:

The perseverance and dedication of the committee to see this project through is nothing short of incredible, and we commend them for all they have done to help improve the opportunities ahead for the youth of Jackson County!
