Managed by the folks at Heartland Coop through a unique public-private partnership with IDALS, Polk County, City of Des Moines and Des Moines Waterworks, it drops the seed into place below the canopy of corn and soybeans:

As you can see, no seeds are caught up in the crop, all are on the ground to start the growing process:
