The ninth day of the Iowa State Fair, August 19th, is all about Iowa Corn! Iowa Corn day is packed full of scavenger hunts, fun facts, and lots of smiling faces!
From 9 am to 4 pm, find the Iowa Corn trailer on the Grand Concourse set with a fact wheel and blow-up corn hole games. You can even talk with some of Iowa Corn’s very own farmers and representatives!
The Corn Faces of Farming Scavenger Hunt is also happening on the grounds today! Complete the hunt and receive a $5 coupon to one of these five places: The Cattlemen’s Beef Quarters, The Iowa Port Tent, The Dairy Goodness Barn, The Cluck and Coop, or the Turkey Tent.
When asked what his favorite way to promote Iowa Corn was, Duane Aistrope answered, “Well my favorite time of the year is the Iowa State Fair because it is the easiest way to reach a large amount of people and educate them on what we do here at Iowa Corn.” Duane is the past president of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and is now serving on the U.S. Grains Council as an At-Large Director. Today he can be found behind the fact wheel at the Iowa Corn trailer helping spread knowledge on all things corn related! “People that have been removed from the farm for generations learn a lot of facts here at the wheel.”
Come down and help support your local cattle and corn farmers by participating in Iowa Corn day!
