Target is closing 24 stores around the Twin Cities as protests and riots continue over the death of George Floyd.
Wednesday night protests in front of Minneapolis' 3rd Precinct, where four officers allegedly involved in Floyd's death were stationed, grew into riots, fires and looting. A Target store across the street from the precinct was heavily damaged.
Target released a statement saying the company was "heartbroken by the death of George Floyd and the pain it is causing our community" adding that the 24 stores were being temporarily closed so that the "focus will remain on our team members' safety and helping our community heal."
