(Des Moines, IA) -- Gas prices are rising in Iowa, up 16 cents from last week.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of unleaded in the state is $3.63. In a press release, they say fluctuating oil prices and maintenance work at refineries on the West Coast and Midwest are leading to rising pump prices.

Since last Thursday, Iowa has seen the largest gas price increase in the country.

The average prices for a gallon of unleaded in Iowa's Metros are the following:

  • Ames - $3.68
  • Cedar Rapids - $3.64
  • Council Bluffs - $3.50
  • Des Moines - $3.69
  • Dubuque - $3.68
  • Iowa City - $3.66
  • Quad Cities (IA only) - $3.59
  • Sioux City - $3.62
  • Waterloo-Cedar Falls - $3.66

The average prices for Regular, Mid-Grade, Premium, and Diesel for each of Iowa's counties can be found here.

The average price of gas in Iowa remains cheaper than the national average, which is up to $3.68 for a gallon of unleaded gas.
