Could Tim Tebow Show Up in Des Moines? Volunteer time for Principal Charity Classic!

Beth Castile of Valley Church and Tracy Hutchison of Rising Sun Church stopped by the studio this morning to tell us about a special Tim Tebow event coming to Valley Church in West Des Moines, Rising Sun Church in Pleasant Hill and Prairie Ridge Church in Ankeny on February 10th.  It's called "Night to Shine" ... an unforgettable prom night experience for people with special needs, ages 14 and older, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.  Tim stops by various "proms" unannounced, so there's a chance he could stop by one here in central Iowa. The churches are looking for both volunteers to help put on the "prom" and attendees with special needs. For more information, go to, or  Between the three events, they will neeed over 1,000 volunteers.

Jeanne Swenson, Loralyn Werkmeister and Bob Snyder joined us in the studio to get us excited about spring and golf!  Today is opening day to sign up as a volunteer for the Principal Charity Classic!  This year's Classic takes place June 6-11 at Wakonda Club.  To date, the Principal Charity Classic has raised nearly $10 million for Iowa children's charites in the past 10 years.  They need you to make this happen!  Volunteers receive free admission for the week, five Good-Any-One-Day tournament tickets to share with family and friends, meals on days of service, an invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party on June 5, the official volunteer uniform, a one-time 25% off merchandise discount and a preferred parking pass.  Plus you will be up-close and personal with some of the biggest golf stars in the world!  Register at or call 515-279-4653.

Tomorrow on Van and Bonnie, we'll have another mystery sound for you...see if you can figure it out before we have to tell you what it is!

Enjoy the day!
