Tim Dwight, former Hawkeye, Falcon & Patriot - Who is he cheering for in the Super Bowl?

Megan Grandgeorge of Variety-The Children's Charity, joined us in the studio this morning shortly after the 8:30 news.  Make plans now to attend the Des Moines Sweethearts Charity Date Night Auction on February 4th, 6-9PM at the Jasper Winery.  Twenty-one bachelor and bachelorettes get auctioned for a date night. February 11th at the Holiday Inn Downtown, it's the Mommy and Me Dance from 1:30-4PM with dance and kid's activities for mom's and their kids.  The Variety Telethon is March 4th and 5th from 7PM to midnight on Saturday and 7AM-6PM on Sunday.  For more information, go to www.VarietyIowa.com/events.

Tim Dwight, former Iowa Hawkeye, former Altanta Falcon and former New England Patriot, joined us by phone this morning to talk about playing for the Falcons and the Patriots.  When asked who he would be pulling for in the Super Bowl...he didn't even hesitate...it was Falcons all the way!  He said Tom Brady didn't give you much warning when he was throwing to you...you had to see it in his eyes and then you knew it was coming.  Tim is now in the solar energy business and you can find out more information at www.ipowercorp.com or www.iowaseta.com.

Nate Teut of the Iowa Cubs joined us by phone this morning just after the 7:30 news.  Today from 10-11:30AM, the Chicago Cubs World Series Trophy is on display and you can get your photo taken with it. Wristbands will be handed out to the first 500 people in line and if time allows after that, additional fans will be accommodated.  Nate says they are hoping to get it back for an Iowa Cubs game this spring or summer.

Chase Carlson, the Target employee whose video is going viral joined us by phone just after the 6:30 news. He is a supervisor at the Target in Urbandale that keeps his team motivated by doing a little dance for them. Check out the video on the Van and Bonnie Facebook page!

The Chocolate Breakfast is coming back on April 1st from 9AM-Noon.  Right now we are interested in talking with vendors with special chocolate items that would like to be promoted at the Chocolate Breakfast. If that's you, go to www.whoradio.com and type in the keyword "chocolate".

Tomorrow on Van and Bonnie, we'll be talking with an employee of NRG Stadium in Houston and all the preparations underway for the Super Bowl.  Also, we'll let you know about a group of people trying to get a Des Moines Museum started.

Have a fantastic day!

Bonnie
