A $100,000 Vote For Coach Prohm & Your tax form can help the Iowa State Fair (Bonnie's blog 2/3/17)

Kelsey Clark, President & CEO of the Iowa Chapter of the Lupus Foundation, and board member Larry Cotlar, joined us in the studio this morning just after the 8:30 news.  ISU Coach Steve Prohm has chosen the Lupus Foundation, Iowa Chapter, as his charity in the ESPN Infiniti Coaches Charity Challenge.  Every vote he receives on every day gets the Lupus Foundation one step closer to receiving $100,000 to help Iowans deal with Lupus.  You can vote once per day, every day.   Currently Coach Prohm is in 9th place...we need to vote to move him up to keep him in the competition!  To vote, go to www.lupusia.org and click on the photo of Coach Prohm.  If it's your first time, you will need to register; otherwise you simply click and vote.  Once you're registered, don't forget to vote every day!

Gary Slater, CEO of the Iowa State Fair, joined us in the studio this morning just after the 7:30 news.  It's income tax season and that's an important time to remember YOUR Iowa State Fair.  There is a "Corndog Checkoff" on your Iowa State tax form where you con contribute a part of your refund to go to the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation to help renovate YOUR fairgrounds!  If you are not getting a refund, you can still check the box and contribute.  Plus, contributions to the Corndog Checkoff are fully tax-deductible! If you do not do your own taxes, be sure to let your tax preparer know that you want to contribute.  Thank you for your loyalty to our great Iowa State Fair!

Monday on Van and Bonnie, we'll be breaking down those Super Bowl commercials with our specialist, Mike Schreurs, and we'll find out your favorite commercials as well.  Also, Chuck Long of Live Healthy Iowa will be joining us in the studio.

Have a wonderful weekend!
