Is Your NCAA Bracket Office Pool Legal? (Bonnie's blog 3/22/17)

posted by Bonnie -

Van and I were wondering about the legality of office pools for the NCAA brackets, so we went right to the source...David Werning of the State of Iowa Inspections & Appeals Office that oversees social gambling! David said it is legal if it is under $200.00 per day.  Also, all money needs to be dispensed to the players, no one can hold part of the money for setting up and running the pool.  This should put you all at ease about filling out brackets for office pools.  We asked David if he filled out a bracket and he said, "I would rather not say".

Saturday is the Colon Cancer Run/Walk at Iowa Digestive Disease Center, 1378 NW 124th St. in Clive.  I hope you'll join me there at 10AM!  All the details are available at www.DSMcoloncancerrun.com.

Tomorrow on Van and Bonnie, Elise Vaux will join us to fill us in on the restaurant scene in Des Moines and Joe Staci will join us to talk about the Iowa Barnstormers who have their first home game on Sunday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena.  I hope to see you there!

Have a great day!
