Groceries for the needy...still time to here... (Bonnie's blog 3/29/17)

Thank you to everyone who came out this morning during our show and purchased grocery bags for $6. Hy-Vee matched every bag up to 1040 bags and all the food is going to the DMARC Food Pantry.  If you were unable to come out this morning and would still like to help, you can call the Mills Civic Hy-Vee at 515-225-1193 and donate with a credit card by phone.  Thank you to Herb Eckhouse of La Quercia Products in Norwalk, Katie Nola of the Iowa Egg Council, Speed Herrig of Cookies BBQ, John Robinson the Director of the DMARC Food Pantry, Ron and Matt Deardorff, growers of Deardorff Sweetcorn and Mike Draper, founder and owner of Ray Gun for being guests on the show this morning.  It is all about local, local, local! Thank you also to Hy-Vee Store Director Mark Luke and his employees for making it all happen!  We will try to give you a count on the bags purchased tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow on Van and Bonnie, we'll have Abe Goldstein on to talk about a big Jazz Festival coming to Des Moines!

Have a super day...try to stay dry!
