Lindsey Foss of the Iowa Food & Family Project joined us in the studio this morning just after the 7:30 news. Friday is Cinco De Mayo and we are throwing a huge party beginning at 5AM! It all takes place in the parking lot of the Iowa Machine Shed Restaurant and Hotel Renovo parking lots on Hickman Road. Just look for the huge tent top. Others involved include the Iowa Beef Council, Iowa Egg Council, Hy-Vee, Earl May, Live Healthy Iowa and AE Dairy. We'll be serving FREE smoked beef brisket and egg breakfast burritos and you can answer trivia for prizes as well as register to win a $555.00 Hy-Vee Gift Card! There are a lot of Cinco De Mayo parties on Friday, but only one that starts at 5AM!!!!! We'll be broadcasting live and we are looking forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to those of you who have expressed concern for me and my little car. I hit a deer on Highway 163 this morning in the dark! Forty-three years of driving to Des Moines to work and I managed to miss them until now. I'm okay and believe it or not, the car doesn't look that bad...probably needs a new hood.
