Kelly Collins joined us just after the 6:30 news to fill us in on Mary's Meals Run which will be held Saturday, May 13th in Historic Valley Junction.  All proceeds will be used to feed desperately hungry kids in Malawi through Mary's Meals.  The Run begins at 9AM.  Bishop Emeritus Joseph Charron will lead the opening prayer and bless the walkers and runners at the start of the 5K and 10K races and donuts will be available at the end of the run. For more information or to register, go to www.MarysMealsRun.com.

Trisha Barton of Valley West Mall, Deb Hurley of the Mayflower, Jeanie Smith of The Free Store and Catherine Curtis of Children & Families of Iowa, all joined us in the studio just after 8:30 this morning. This Saturday at Valley West Mall, the Mayflower truck will be parked in the SW corner of the parking lot and they will be taking donations of gently used dishes, towels, linens, small furniture items, small kitchen appliances and more for the victims of domestic abuse.  Items donated will be given to The Free Store to distribute to victims of domestic abuse thru Children & Families of Iowa.  If you can't donate on Saturday, you can get in touch with The Free Store at 515-282-3733 or www.thefreestore.org.  Children & Families of Iowa can be reached at www.CFIowa.org or 515-243-6174.  The Mayflower can be reached at www.selectvan.com.  Valley West Mall has information at www.valleywestmall.com.

Tomorrow on Van and Bonnie Erin Kiernan and Sonya Heitshusen of TV-13 will join us in the studio and Carolyn Jenison of the Botanical Center will tell us about a bunch of special things going on at the Botanical Center for Mother's Day.  Plus, we'll have two more chances for you to win $1,000!

Try to stay dry!
