Carly Vannoy and her mother joined us in the studio this morning just after the 6:30 news.  Carly is the 2017 Honey Queen.  Carly has been involved with her own bee hives since she was a little girl.  She is traveling the state of Iowa sharing presentations about honey bees, honey and beekeeping and the importance of bees for pollination.  Carly says the best way to get started with your own bee hives is to go to www.IowaHoneyProducers.org and attend classes they sponsor.  You can get more information on Carly on her facebook page.... My Honey Queen Adventure.

Abby Bogaards and Tammy Miller with "On With Life" joined us in the studio just after the 8:30 news.  This Friday is Wear Your Helmet at Work Day to show your support for wearing a helmet while biking.  On With Life knows helmets provide a 66% to 88% reduction in the risk of head, brain and severe brain injury for all ages of bicyclists.  On With Life is in Ankeny and they work with people with brain injuries.  They are asking you to wear your helmet for one hour at work this Friday and send them a photo #helmetsiowa.  You can get more information at www.onwithlife.org.

Leila Rush had a story this morning about getting paid to lose weight.  It's an online program where you bet you can lose an amount of pounds of weight before a certain date.  If you make it, you win your money back as well as what's in the kitty at the time!  About 1/3 of the people that participate make their goal weight in time to win.  For more information, go to www.healthywage.com.

Tomorrow on Van and Bonnie, we'll have information for you on a very special progressive dinner...you'll want to know about this one!  Plus, we'll have two more chances for you to win $1,000.00!

Have a super day!
